4 Books All Women Entrepreneurs Should Read
The kids are in school, and it’s time for us to do a little studying of our own. These four books cover everything from starting a business to managing a company and your family at the same time. Don’t miss these gems – here are four books every woman entrepreneur should read.
1. Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg This is a given, but keep something in mind as you read. Many criticize Sandberg, saying her life can’t be that tough with a chauffeur and a nanny at her disposal. False – these perks don’t make her job of taking care of business and family any easier. In fact, it amplifies how no amount of help really diminishes the struggles that every working mom goes through.
2. The Go-Giver by John David Mann and Bob Burg I personally love this one. The power of giving is very real, and you don’t truly reach success until you put others first. But one of the most powerful things I learned in this book is that to be a good giver, you have to be a good receiver first. Understand the power of being a good receiver. You can’t breathe out unless you breathe in first, right?
3. Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? by Seth Godin Seth Godin is a marketing and entrepreneurial genius, to say the least. This one of his many books focuses on you: your power, your future and how to make a difference in your industry.
4. #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso Sophia Amoruso’s story of how she built a multi-million dollar online retailer from a shabby eBay store is inspirational. It’s a fun, leisure read that highlights the power of great quality, customer service and branding.
