3 Tips for Showing Gratitude on Social Media
If you’re like me, you might be in the mood for gratitude. And since social media is one of my specialties, I wanted to focus this blog on 3 tips that will help you give thanks to clients and partners by using those tools. You see, social media shouldn't be about "pushing" your product or service. It's about connecting in a genuine way. And social media is a great avenue for not only connecting, but also for showing gratitude.
Ready to show some gratitude of your own?
1. Tagging corporations/clients – Let’s face it. If it weren’t for other businesses, most of our own businesses wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. They’re our vendors, our customers, our partners, etc. On Facebook, for instance, you can use your business page as an individual and, if you’re a fan of another business page, you can tag that business in one of your posts. The benefit? By tagging them, your post will also show up on their wall, while they get the benefit of exposure from being on your wall. It’s a win-win.
2. Tagging individuals – We all have companies that we like to do business with, and many times it’s because of the people who define the business; not the corporate entity itself. A manager. An assistant. A secretary. Tagging individuals can be tough on Facebook, but on Twitter you can more easily engage with individuals without crossing professional boundaries. Search for them and tweet your appreciation. The art of the thank you should never be lost, and if you utilize it, you’re certain to be remembered.
3. Promotions – Nothing will draw more attention to your Twitter or Facebook page than a contest or promotion. A ‘Client Appreciation Contest’ comes to mind. Encourage individuals and companies that you’re close with to participate, and give away a prize with the expressed purpose of showing gratitude. Be sure to tag participating individuals and companies in your contest posts as often as you can, and stretch out the gratitude as wide as possible.
