It doesn't need to be perfect.
This morning, my boys got ready for their school Field Day. And as you can see by the photo, we take this really seriously in our house - we are all about team spirit! We had mohawks, caps with spikes, glasses, branded shirts, and even face paint. As I was writing "Go Gold" on my seven year-old's arm, I kept asking him to stay still. "Keep still, Marcelo, or it won't come out right," I said. He looked up at me and said, "Don't worry about it, Mommy, it doesn't have to be perfect."
Wow.
What a lesson.
Did it really matter that the "O" was a perfect circle?
Absolutely not.
It got me thinking about how many times in our lives, we take things too seriously. Sure, it's important to do your best, but sometimes, it's important to put it in perspective and realize...it doesn't need to be perfect.
