Last week, I attended Hispanicize 2013, the iconic annual event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in social media, journalism, marketing, film, music and innovation. In addition to meeting some pretty fabulous entrepreneurs and Hispanic powerhouses, I was treated with meeting some pretty powerful Latina entrepreneurs and legends. You see, Coca-Cola has sponsored an amazing campaign started by media mogul and entrepreneur, Nely Galan. The campaign, called Adelante ("Move Forward" in Spanish) was started to inspire Latina Empowerment. The idea is to share resources, empower one another, and exchange thoughts to take ourselves to a higher place, raise more money, pay for our children’s colleges and become a powerful voice for our community.

Nely was joined on stage by Charo, Spanish-American actress, comedienne, and flamenco guitarist, best known for her flamboyant stage presence, her provocative outfits, and her trademark phrase "cuchi-cuchi" AND the amazing Rita Moreno, Puerto Rican singer, dancer and actress best known for her role as "Anita" in West Side Story. She is the only Hispanic and one of the few performers to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.

As I sat in the audience and listened to these three powerhouses and TRUE legends, I realized one thing that united us all. We need love. We need support. We need the PUSH. The people in our lives that are going to love and support us when we are very, very successful and more importantly, when we are not.

One of my big tips for mompreneurs is to build our army and I am proud to see that large corporations such as Coca-Cola are supporting just that. They are supporting a movement. The movement to empower one another. To strengthen our communities. To increase our supporters. To rid ourselves of the guilt. To go for it. To be the very, very best we can be.

So, what are you waiting for? What do you need to build your army and go Adelante?!?
